Since this was 5 years ago I’m sure you know this by now but just in case… sundews and other carnivorous plants need rainwater, distilled water, or reverse osmosis water only. They do best when you sit the pot in a water tray with an inch or two of the above listed types of water at all times. They also love a lot of bright sun and will turn red and produce more dew in these conditions. If you don’t keep them wet and in bright light for 12-14 hours a day they will not produce the dew and will stay green like this. They are very hardy and as long as you don’t let them dry out for too long or put them in the dark constantly, they will survive. I have one that looked identical to this that came from a hardware store that didn’t have them in the right conditions. After a couple weeks in full sun it was covered in red dewy tentacles and catching tons of gnats and fruit flies. They are my favorite plants along with Venus flytraps!!!

how are you gonna get it out of that pot when it's time.? I always have to hammer and break the pots so I use liners in everything now. lovely plant looks like you actually have two plants you have two main stems..

Hello, I myself have experienced the same infestation of Knats from the same product. The claim was that this soil mix repelled or discouraged Knats. My house is full of them now.😢

I'm new to the carnivorous plant scene 1.) Do filter jugs make sense? 2.) Is sundew from a filter jug healthy? 3.)What should you pay attention to when buying a filter jug? 4) Which is better Dafi or BRITA? 5) I was told that boiled and cooled water is good for sundews. Can anyone confirm this? 6) Should we hand feed them at some point? as the domes are closed at the seedling stage to maintain humidity and prevent insects from entering. 7._Should we open the dome every few days to get some fresh air? 8.) I wish, I thought. catching rainwater. ? 9.) I wish, I thought. catching water from snow?

I would have cut the small pot away while you had in unearthed rather than disturbing it again. It might be strangling the mother !

That plant is of the devil. That plant gave me hell until I put it in PON. Within days, it started sprouting new leaves after almost a year of being stuck. Gorgeous plant.

Yes yes yes. I tried every solution. I could find online to get rid of them and could not. At night they would fly around my book when reading and on my countertops as I worked with my undercabinet lights on. I will never buy anything miracle grow again. I had to get rid of my 20 year old, ficus tree, and my indoor herbs and got them outside before any of my other indoor plants got infested. Then the summer sun did them and still 3 weeks later still gnats.

Roaches in a bag when I opened it. They were flying out of the bag. It was disgusting. I absolutely hate roaches.
